Go to Big Z's Custom Jigs on Facebook. I make them and sell them there.

Have you been out much? The fishing has been pretty slow this spring. Did well on Red Rock early but it has been slow lately.

I have a ceramic bobbin that was fairly cheap from Amazon and it worked great until this past weekend. It started cutting the thread I am using and I noticed that the ceramic insert was cracked.

Also my whip finisher seems small as I am having a hard time getting to spin over larger jig heads.
I use this whip finisher: https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabe...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

and this thread bobbin: https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/cabelas-material-bobbin

I like a quality bobbin and whip finisher and have never had any issues with either. I like to have a bit of tension on my bobbin so I will wrap the thread once around the side bar to add a bit of tension.

The last time we went to Red Wing the yellow/white bucktails with the magic marker stripes on them were killer. Both of the big fish we caught (31" 12.6lbs & 30" 10.2lbs) were caught on that jig.

Try this bobbin. Heavy thread is hard on inserts. This design will also hold the thread tighter.

This 6” whip finish tool might give you more room
