Default VHF Antenna cable isolation

Is it necessary to put the cable of VHF antenna into any kind of tubing before mounting? I saw a couple of tutorials about how to mount an antenna and in every video all the cables were isolated. I suppose in videos everything just should be "ideal" but maybe I am wrong and missing something?

Try to keep a vhf cable short and away from electronics, transducer cables or compass.

I do not see any need for that. I have not had any trouble with mine. Antenna is mounted on passenger side. Radio on driver side. Tested good with swr meter. I have not noticed any interference. Maybe if it was a commercial ship with a generator and a bunch of electric motors. Walleye boat it should be fine. I would maybe keep it away from back of the boat. Away from outboards. Make sure you do not cut cable shorter then 3 feet. I put my antenna in front of Passenger not driver. Does not block the view while driving.
