Sorry, but I have never been up there. I would approach it as any other lake this time of year. Troll crankbaits or crawler harnesses until you find the active fish. Then you can slow down and jig if you prefer. Troll to eliminate water, and use your electronics to find fish. You might see if any people at the lake have any "current" info (which is usually a week old) in most cases.

Most of our fish down here are fairly deep right now. (25-45') and I would not see why that lake would be any different. Those are the fish I would be targeting. Find baitfish balls and chase those around. You should see the marks in and around the baitfish, which are most likely the predator fish. Look for depth breaks, and fish sitting on and above the breaks.

Was up there many years ago with my elderly father in law, family and young kids. We drift fished with crawlers and some harnesses. Not sure we made it to the whole lake. Remembering it rained a lot. Not sure this helps much. Talking about going up there again maybe next year. Keep us posted on your results.

1. Big lake. Really big for the US.
2. Rocky, very rocky.
3 Gets shallow fast and is **** on props.
4.Has muskys, etc.
5. Did I mention it's rocky?
6. Nightcrawlers and minnows and don't move around much. It's rocky.
7. Has a nice state park and is beautiful like the rest of the UP. Oh, it's rocky.
8. Watch out for unmarked rock piles, there are a lot of them.
9. Take an extra prop and hub kit. It's rocky.
10. Have a good time.

Talking Rocks

Yes. The entire UP is a great big rock with iron and copper mixed in and water over
the top. And trees.
