Bad advice - release them after you bring them into the boat, not broken off with a hook stuck in them...

I use Seaguar 20# flourocarbon leader material because where I fish big pike hang out at the same depth as walleyes and I don't like leaving hooks in fish. I also check them after each pike and retie the ones that are frayed.
