I find that to be one of the most fun things about being able to fish 3 lines per person here in NY: If I'm trolling, I can start out with an array of different lures and see if any appear to be working better than others.

I use both Flicker Shads and Shad Raps, as well.

Default Can't Do It

Times of the year determines actions:

Summer seems nose down baits do best, other times a flat horizontal side to side is more effective

I pretty much fish everything, but these days availability has become an issue for me. Tough to find lures in general but it is the colors that work best for me is the main issue. Hope we get back to "normal" soon. All lures will work in the conditions that suit them. I have been using lures that became collectors items over the years (because they were poor performers and were semi-retired). I have been putting some color accents on them.(my favorite colors)

When I have multiple people in the boat, I start my spread with flickers, salmo hornets, Wally divers, and shad raps. At the end of the day I usually don’t have any raps left on.

i prefer casting with shad raps and trolling flickers. if cost was the same, it would be all raps.
