Default Bow Electronics

Looking for suggestions. I have a HB 999 combo at the console and want to keep it. Thinking about adding electronics at the bow. Do not want anything to sophisticated and or large.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks in advance. KC

Depends what you consider sophisticated and what your budget is.

Lots of good options out there and need to ask:

how often are you fishing out of the bow?

What is your primary technique when fishing out of the bow (Drifting, Vertical Jigging, casting cranks, etc)

Are you brand loyal to Humminbird?

I added a 788 to the bow of mine, and used the cupholder hole as the location, so I didn't need to drill any new holes. The 788 networks with my 958, and uses the quick-disconnect mount for traveling.

Again, like GTO mentions, it all depends what you want to accomplish, and how deep your pockets are.

For current models a Helix 7 would fit the bill nicely. 450-650 depending on what flavor you want.

If you do a 7, make sure to get the G2N. Then you can network it to your 999. Most people just run a sonar/gps only model up at the bow since they tie into their US2.
