Electric chain saw.
Hey all,
Hope you all are well. Looking for opinions/experiences with electric chainsaws. I used a neighbors last winter was surprised at torque/sawing time. His is a cheaper model can't remember what brands. Thanks ! Bob

I am very impressed with my small Homelite. I cut up a significant portion of a large green ash that was removed from my yard. I let the professionals do the removal, but asked them to leave the large logs for firewood. That thing just kept on going and still does years later.

I've owned a dewalt 20v for 2 years. Great for brush and trimming work. Excellent battery life. No gas to mix, no pull cord. My wife even enjoys using it. Stihl and some of the other manufacturers have come out with higher voltage models and, according to my dealer, they are competing quite well in the chainsaw market. I'll be looking ,real closely, at them when my gas model dies.

I have a plug in electric chain saw. I got tired of starting woes with gasoline models. It has as much capability as a gas version. Plus it has an internal chain sharpener. Press a button while running and a stone touches the chain and the sparks fly.

I got a Dewalt 60v 16" electric last fall.
Absolutely love it. Just pick it up and go. No more dealing with gas/oil, no more yanking on the cord 10 times to get it to start in the dead of winter. I can buck medium sized trees with this (probably up to 16"). Got two extra batteries. |

I have an electric pole saw and love it. Great torque and eats right through hardwood.

My brother has one of the Makita 36 volt (takes two 18v batteries) and it cuts like a gas saw. Amazing.

I would maybe look at Milwaukee’s. I had to return my Dads new dewalt 20. It internally leaked oil. The replacement dewalt now has a sticky trigger issue. My Dad does not use it that much.
