Default Humminbird Refresh Coming?

I was thinking about buying a HB Solix 12. That is a lot of $$ for a unit that is 3 years old. Any idea if they plan to refresh the Solix line this year or next?

Default Possibly

I contacted HB and found out that any new releases will occur in the October to December time frame. No one seems to know and cannot reveal it.

I just picked up my new boat with a 12” Solix, incredible unit! I dont know how they could improve it. If they do improve it any I bet it will be thru software updates but who knows.

They won’t reveal because they can hit you twice. Spend on old tech, update to new.

No way I would buy a first release. There are too many bugs. Even in my Gn2’s, Humminbird struggles to make things work right.

Default 4K screen

I’m waiting for a 4K screen resolution before upgrading.

My guess is they will follow up with linking all units with WiFi and get rid of cables which should of been done years ago. If they do it would be nice if they came out with a dongle for the older units.

From what I have seen in the past, The ICAST show in July is when most products are announced.(for release for Xmas or spring the next year) I think Solix will be around another year. Maybe a tweak. It already has WiFi but no real software for it, that may be a tweak. I personally have learned my lesson on buying first year electronics. (hard for a early adopter most of my life) too many burn scars! But that is a personal choice. HB is pretty good about giving prior release units features that don't require hardware changes. But times do change. Bob
