Buy a powder coated unit and remove the receiver when not in use. A receiver rusting in should never be a issue. I remove mine and give everything a good healthy spray of WD-40 3-4 times a year and never have a problem. I also take mine out during the winter when not towing anything.

That is correct. I would like a complete SS receiver to mount onto my truck. I do have a SS ball mount and ball. Sorry about the confusion.

Rather than stainless steel, just take the complete hitch to a place that does sand blasting and powder coating. Have them powder coat the hitch a nice gloss black and it will stay nice for a very very long time.
