Default Too Far Forward

My boat sits too far forward on trailer, the last set of rollers are actually against the stern instead of under. I’m unsure if I need to move my winch post back or up to help remedy. Trailer is set up how I bought it.
Thanks in advance for any insight

Can you show a picture of the back. If you think its to far forward you have to move the post back.

FH,
OK, there's a bigger problem you should solve first. The roller on the winch post should be ABOVE the bow eye, otherwise, the only thing stopping this hull from launching off the trailer and into your truck is the winch rope. see yellow dot below

So, with the boat hitched-up like in your picture, first loosen the winch cable a bit, and get the hull back on the last set of rollers. Then, adjust the winch & roller elevation until the bow eye nicely "snuggles up" under the roller, moving the entire winch post back or forth as needed. If the tongue weight becomes too light, as a result of moving the hull back, you may need to move the axle(s) back also, to increase the tongue weight.

It depends on the tongue weight. Moving the winch stand back may take to much weight off the tongue and the trailer will sway back and forth at highway speed. Is there a way to adjust the roller forward?
To check your tongue weight, make sure the coupler won't bind on the ball then jack the trailer up on a bathroom scale. I would think you should have 280-300lbs of tongue weight for your boat. You may need to put a small block of wood on the scale to distribute the weight.

What hrg is saying is what I’ve been thinking. All the boats I’ve ever owned, or saw for that matter. I’m thinking that moving post up will achieve both moving boat back and getting bow eye where it should be. Wanted to double check with you folks to makes sure I wasn’t missing something. Tongue weight isn’t bad now but moving boat back on trailer 6” ish will be a good thing

Post a pic of the entire rig from the port or starboard side.

The space you need in front does not appear to be available in the back.

To me, it looks like 5lbs of boat with 3lbs of trailer.

So before I pulled boat out at the launch tonight I raised the winch up about 5” or so, not quit perfect but much better.
I also need to replace winch, the one it came with is junk.

If you replace the winch be sure to look at a 2 speed winch. Much easier cranking the boat on shallow ramps.

looks to me like the whole boat is on too far and over the top of the post. . getting the bow eye under the wench roller probably solves all problems. looks like it got put on the trailer in big waves and got pushed way forward. you start moving posts around changes the handling characteristic of the trailer and can be dangerous. you gotta ask yourself why now would a post need to be moved after all these years... unless it has been moved since coming from the factory. You may want to get someone(a dealer) involved who can kelp get the right weight ratio on the tongue. then you'll know its set right. that last pic looks way better.
