Default EP-60R Fuel Flow installation

Hey folks...

I just bought a lowrance fuel flow sensor and I am looking for your ideas on installation. I have a Mr. Pike 18 with a Yamaha 150 2 stroke. I have a yamaha fuel filter that is mounted on the side of my boat in the splashwell where my fuel lines come out of the side of the boat.

The fuel flow instructions say two things...
1. The flow sensor must be mounted behind a filter
2. The sensor should be mounted as close to the tank as possible

Well, I either need to add an additional filter near my tank, or mount the sensor by splicing into my gas line behing the existing filter which would be just before the primer ball.

Anyone know which route would be better?

I just added another filter where it comes out of the tank and put the sensor behind that.
