Default for Marinco 4-wire TM plug users

Based on a recent thread, where a member burned-up the internal jumper in a Marinco 2018BP-24 plug, I decided to do some additional research. Marinco's catalog now shows that plug as having a 60-amp rating, which they never published before.

So, seeing the fried internal jumper in a plug used on a 24V Terrova, which should max-out at 56 amps, I contacted Marinco and asked how they achieve that rating, since a similar twist-lock plug in the electrical/industrial world would be rated at 20 amps.

Below is their reply:

We had an older version of the 2018 trolling motor plug that was not rated at 60A. You can verify your plug by looking at the face of the plug. The plug should have a 60A identifier on the white nylon face. If it does not, you have an older plug that is not rated for 60A.

Not sure when the change was made, but it might be worth looking to see what version you have.
