Need help on purchasing fishfinder with GPS
I will be headed up to Northern Ontario to fish out of Halley’s Camps. I would like to have some good recommendations on a portable fish finder with GPS, and if possible does anyone know if the lakes in far north Canada are available for lake maps on GPS cards. I know I have many questions. I am new to the electronic game...I would prefer user friendly equipment and a price under $700.00 with all extras..

Humminbird 597ci or 385ci....both are portable, under the $700 threshold, have internal GPS receiver, dual beam sonar, and accept Navionics and LakeMaster chips.
See them in action (in an ice fishing application) here: http://www.jasonhalfenoutdoors.com/597bluegill.html http://www.jasonhalfenoutdoors.com/385crappies.html |

As far as I know, Navionics has the only Canada map cards. They only list about 250 Ontario lakes. Check the lake list before you buy.
