Default Hamlin Lake outside of Ludington

Any tips for using crank baits for walleyes on Hamlin Lake in the summer?
So many floating weeds apparently from boat traffic that my lures get snagged quickly
Would love to troll the break lines and/or center of the lake for walleyes chasing minnow schools during the evening
Feel free to send me a PM
thx - Mooser!

Hope someone answers you. I'll be going there Sept 10-12. We usually stay on the upper lake and get bass , pike, pan fish, etc. Would be great to get a walleye or two this year.

Also interested in this lake. I've heard rumors of good walleye fishing, but no specifics on location or methods.

I've had second-hand reports from friends that have fished Hamlin for 40 years and never heard them say they ever caught a walleye. They mainly report catching crappie, bass, and an occasional northern. If there was a good walleye population I would expect more incidental walleye catches. Good luck.
