Default Approximate value 6hp 1984 Johnson ?

A buddy of mine inherited a 84 Johnson 6 hp in really nice shape . Any idea what something like that would go for ? Looked on Craigslist and really did not find any comparable . I run an 84 40 hp thinking the 6 horse would be a nice kicker . Thanks Don

Since it didn't cost him anything, I'd offer him $250 and see if he bites.

Here's some light reading on it: https://www.leeroysramblings.com/OMC%206-8hp.htm

I have the same motor, purchased it about 6 years ago off eBay and paid $300. The only problem I have with it is trying to maintain a specific speed for trolling.

If you are selling it, price it at $995.
If you are buying it buy it for $99.

I expect that a deal can be made in either direction at a number that is somewhere in the middle.

Best wishes.

Be prepared...everyone who calls on the ad thinks it funny to say, "I'd like to come and look at your johnson"

I'd list it for $450...make sure you put "kicker motor" in the ad...that's the market for it.
