Default Fastest 20 foot walleye boat hull? 250HP

I have become more of speed nut. Because when the fishing isnt good i wanna have a fun riding boat.

Out of all the Brands Skeeter, Warrior, Lund , Yarcraft, Ranger, Nitro etc. Which have you had experience with and which was the fastest boat with a 250HP outboard? Can include 300HP but would like to focus on 250HP.

Triton, Ranger, Vexus will all run mid-60’s without much effort

I doubt the glass boats run mid 60s with a 250 with exception of the yarcraft and possibly the triton. My 250 on 20.5 aluminum boat runs 57-59 in summer heat loaded for fishing. Top speed really depends on your load and propping. I prefer all around prop rather than hitting 60-61 mph.

Are you talking current model years or used? Some hulls have underwent changes to better there handling but it slowed them down some.

Yarcraft 209 or a Triton 206 are probably the two fastest 20 ft hulls on the market. A 620FS ranger or the Nitro ZV20 might not be far behind. I can't comment on the Vexus as I have no experience or knowledge of how they run, maybe they're an option. Skeeter, Warrior, are definitely not with there current 20ft offerings, those are low to mid 50mph boats

Why are you limiting your search to 20ft boats with 250's, pretty much all of the current offerings are rated for a 300 and if you want performance, that's where it's at.

You are probably going to be seriously disappointed if you buy a new glass walleye boat with a kicker and a 250, and expect it to easily run mid 60's gps, based on somebody saying it will. A lot of people talk, but funny thing is when you read the factory performance bulletins, they don't seem to get the speeds people talk about. When you prop a walleye boat for best all-around use, and not over prop it just to get another mph or two at the sacrifice of everything else, you more than likely are going to be in the 60mph range on some, and 61-62 mph for others. I would agree with Yarcraft and Triton possibly being slightly faster. Last Skeeter 20' I demoed, right at 60 mph gps, really impressive, fantastic boat, given that it is apx 400 lbs heavier than a Ranger. I think the new Rangers are in the 60-62 mph range. Some of the older ones with Etec's were slightly faster. For comparison my 22' Skeeter with a 300 does 58 with a Bravo prop, and I think that's incredible given the weight of the boat and HP. I also get between 3.8 and 4 mpg with a bimini top up, running between 32 and 34 mph. It's the most comfortable big water boat I have been in, and I have been in alot, including Rangers 22' boat, that quite honestly is a really nice boat.

I can run a tempest plus 19p around 5950-6000 rpm at 58-59mph. I picked up 2 maybe 3mph by going lithium trolling batteries. Try a 19P enertia if you can. It seems to be a touch faster than tempest with more stern lift. I also agree with Muskyed. Performance reports and what you read on this board indicate a 250 normally puts you 55-62mph no matter what hull. Even the 300-400hp engines on walleye hulls are not that fast in my opinion. From my research, Yarcraft seems the fastest hull.
