Was there a few weeks ago and would suggest bottom bouncers (1-3 oz depending on wind and speed), slow death rigs and spinner rigs to catch numbers. Like to run cranks to locate and scout potential areas then when you find them slow death, jig or getting close to Lindy and leach time. Depending on area the river usually doesn't eat gear but I always like to over-prepare so I don't run out of whatever is working.

I’d say you’re spot on. The other thing I would add would be a single bead rig w half crawler pulled behind a bouncer. Many times this setup has outperformed anything else for me up there.

Both replies are spot on. In June most any presentation will work, but I like to be moving. Cranking up to 2.5 and crawler rigs from 0.5 to 1.5. Over MM day a couple weeks ago we found fish in 5 Ft. Right by town. The largest of the weekend was a 23 in caught shore fishing from my camping pad at Indian Creek.

Awesome, I have quite a few bottom bouncers. Plenty of stuff to tie up rigs if we need to.

One other word of advise is to wait out the wind. It usually goes down in the evening...usually...Keep it simple, don't be afraid to go out when it's nice and wait out weather. there's a lot of daylight that time of year.

It’s always windy up there. If it says 10mph, expect 20mph. It does often calm down in the evening and is often ok in the early morning.

We have a camper at New Evarts resort and our son lives close to the resort. Its going to be windy this weekend gusts into the 30's. It isn't always windy there, just most of the time. The Wind Alert app is pretty accurate if you don't have it I would suggest putting it on your phone. it gives you hourly wind forecasts. We have always said if the forecast is 15-25 add them together on Oahe, 40 will be closer.

What they said...and realize this....that is big water. When the wind does kick up you can find yourself in 3-4' swells with whitecaps. It is a great lake. I love it, but it can be fickle. Fish the usual spots, points, edges, bays. There are times you will think....there HAVE to be walleye here....nope. And, go back to last year and read Hutch's posts. He always gives great advice that is spot on.

Good luck, and good fishing!
