the only thing you own that will put out 1080p is your blu ray player. if you must have it and your yamaha will not pass it on through, your best bet is to run hdmi direct to your television and then run coaxial/optical audio to your receiver.

X2.

I bought a mid-range Marantz a couple of years ago and it sounds better than my old higher end Yamaha. The upper level Onkyo and Denon models are also good.

Lot of good info and reviews on Crutchfield. I've had great luck buying from them.

16 or 14 would be fine for what you are looking at. Not going to be pushing mega power to them.

This is all you ever need for most home installations.

The expensive "monster" wire sold at some of the stores is essentially a scam.

18 ga will be fine for a 10-15' run. anything longer than that i like 14-16 ga. but to be honest? that the human ear will be able to tell a difference is arguable.

i used to install car audio 10 years ago. i did 18-16 ga wire all the time. i ran 14 to subs getting 400 watts of power with no issue.

All depends on if your an audiophile or not.

Some people spend way more on useless crap than needed, try your 18 and if you think there's problems go get a spool of radio shack 14 gauge speaker wire or hit one of the on line stores but watch shipping.

Too small, especially if your speakers are 4 ohm.

Go with 14 ga. and you'll be good for about any speaker up to 35-40'.

power output is 80 watts per channel and speakers are Bose 8 ohm. I hooked up with the 18 gauge I had and it sounds great to me.
I am really liking this Yamaha rx-v375, it sounds great and it improved the picture on my tv using HDMI cables. I always thought component gave the best picture.
