Default Networking help with Lowrance...

Greetings All,

I'm looking to finally link my Gen 1 HDS 5&8 together plus I would like to add Sirius weather. I don't have structure scan at this time...

If I'm reading correctly, I could do this with a Lss module which would leave me with the option of structure scan with the addition of the skimmer, or I could do this with the NEP-2 correct? What exactly would this look like and what pieces parts would I need?

Can I use Lss-2 with Gen 1 finders?

Thanks in advance,
Rigs

you can use gen 1 with lss 2 module. You will need the following:

LSS 2 module (comes with 15 ft ethernet cable)
another e net cable, I would go with a 3 ft and run that cable from you dash monitor to the box which I would mount under the dash
sirius weather

Your skimmer 83/200 or such will plug into a monitor in the sonar jack. Your other monitor will be able to see it through the LSS as long as both monitors are on.

I think thats it.

Hook yellow wires from monitors to yellow wire on lss all together. This way you can turn on the lss from the bow although you wont see 2D unless your dash is on so I guess the yellow wire from the bow isn't needed

It looks like going with LSS-2 would be the ticket... If I'm getting this right, it will allow me to work off of either ducer (bow or stern) and to get sirius weather into the system, correct?

This is off of Lowrance site... do I need both the Lss and the NEP-2?

I believe you can switch which sonar you choose to monitor, I only have the stern.
Everything else you ask will work with the LSS 2 just like you said

No prob. I Truly enjoy my LSS set up. I just wish my HDS's looked as good as my 858 does in the sun at angles

Default Another question...

I'm gonna go with the nep-2 module vs. Lss. Does anybody know if the module comes with an Ethernet cable? I figured I would need a 15? footer to the front finder, and it looks like the Sirius comes with cable...

I'm just going to need a small Ethernet from the module to the finder on the dash...

Am I missing anything in the system? I think I have my bases covered...

Thanks in advance,
Rigs
