Default Trouble with Red Dot and Front Sight on AR-15

Alright guys, I found a Bushnell T-Dot on Clearance for a price that was too good to pass up, so I scooped it up for use on my 16" AR. However, I have an issue. I mounted the sight on the rifle and the dot lands squarely on the front sight.
Is there a quick fix to this, or will I have to go with a flattop gas block to alleviate the problem?

Thanks for any help!

How is the red dot mounted, on a picatinny rail?
If so, they make a picatinny rail riser that would add some height to the red dot that might be enough to clear the sight, may even be able to stack them in order to get to the proper height.
