Can anyone tell me what thread they use when tying bucktail jigs. I will be tying 1/8 oz jigs most of the time with some 1/4. I ordered Denier 210 and 140 as thats the stuff Cabelas had but I'm not sure which size is best. Can anyone help me with this.

I would think that the one advantage would be that the lead would be cleaner then old used wheel weights.
Just found lead. You can get 1lb. ingots for $2.99 from lure parts online, right off of the WC home page.

I used to buy my lead from the local scrap metal yard. They had several 55 gallon barells of it you could rumage through. They even had it separated into soft, hard lead and tire weights. I like the soft lead myself = you leave a mark when you press your thumbnail into it. Last time I bought some about 5 years ago it was about 32 cents a pound. I have a friend who has access to a pile of sheet lead that I can get for free now.

E-Bay has been the most consistent lead source for me. Search "scrap lead", "lead ingots" and "soft lead". Runs a little over $1 / lb shipped.
