Question Lake of the Woods, early fall tactics

Heading to LOW to fish off the NW Angle (NE about 18 miles) the week of 9/14. Would appreciate any thoughts on how to best approach the mighty musky when the water temps (I'm projecting) are in the low 60's...maybe even upper 50's.

Do you agree with the thoughts of the Seven Degrees of Musky Location: http://www.fishinfo.com/fishing-arti...icle_504.shtml

Seems like might, as a rule of thumb it might be wise start deeper and work shallower, if sunny as the day progresses?

Thanks for the thoughts and fishing reports from those recently or currently fishing LOW.

Thanks,

As of right now, they are still active on rock points and shallow reefs. Casting Suick's, Double Cowgirls and Invaders has been working for me great recently. Last 3 fish were caught on Suick's, but many follows from the other two. I'll update you on Tuesday on what they are active on. It looks like it wont be long until the water temp drops to 60 or below, so trolling may be an option early this year

Thanks, That would be awesome!
My grandparents built a place on Flag back in the early 80's. I was excited to see a post from Sunset Lodge. From the pictures on your web site Sunset Lodge looks great.

Thanks and best wishes,
Kory

Thats pretty neat! You'll have to come swing by when you're up here and check it out! I'll even share a couple Muskie spots!

Thanks for the offer and may take you up on that. We'll see how the trip is going as I'm driving out from CO. Long drive but as my dad says, there are five Great Lakes but only one Lake of the Woods. Worth every mile!

Just returned from the LOW. Great trip, nothing large but brought 9 muskies to the boat and missed a number more.

SunsetLodge, sorry we were not able to stop by but we offered to escort someone out to the lodge. Definitely keep you in mind if we ever head that way for some ice fishing.

Now buried in work so won't be thinking about fishing for quite a while....
