Default St Croix Mojo Ice???

I am in the process of looking for a nicer ice fishing rod than I currently have. I really enjoy fishing with my St. Croix Eyecon in the summer and am looking at a St. Croix Mojo Ice, specifically the 32" Medium mainly for walleye. How sensitive is the Mojo Ice relative to its price point? How is the rod overall? Is it worth spending the extra money to get the Avid Jigging Ice? Finally, is there another rod that anyone would recommend looking at around the $50 price point? Thanks.

I have the Avid ML and I really like it. I personally wouldn't buy the Mojo but thats just me. Hopefully you get some input from users that have the Mojo ice.

Ivan,
Take a look at the "Sportsman's direct rods.

These rods represent excellent rods with a wide variety of actions, powers and materials for very reasonable prices.

Give them a call and chat with the folks for a while and discuss your needs.

You can pick up two or three different rods and each will excel for different uses.

I have built hundreds of ice rods over the years, and these folks are some of my favorite suppliers for components, including the blanks.

You can get fiberglass rods, graphite rods, moderate action rods, extra fast tipped rods, spring tipped rods etc. etc. etc.

Whenever I go Ice fishing I always go with at least 6-10 different rods and use the appropriate one for the conditions that I am fishing.

But, yes, they do have the perfect rod for you at a very reasonable price.

I have the Fenwick Elite tech ice and the HMG ice and they are pretty nice rods for the price too.
