This is a very popular boat on Lake Kabetogama both of my neighbors have one & many Guides are also using them. I also see many 189 Tyee GL on Kabetogama but rarely see a Pro V GL. I would like to know from anyone that has fished or been on anyone of these boats for ride & fish ability likes or dislikes. Thanks in advance.

Kevin you likely know Travis Carlson who guides on Kab. He liked his enough that he bought a new one. I run the same boat only in the tiller version and so far I like it just fine. I only have the 200 Verado whereas I think Travis has a 300.

I bought a new tyee 208gl in 2016, fished it for 2 seasons. Just my opinion, but I didn't like the ride at all. Rides a lot rougher than my 2175, and takes more speed to stay on plane. Part of that could be prop related. I also didn't think it had a lot of storage or front deck space. These are all comparisons to my current boat.

No its aluminum, and despite the naysayers its rides literally night and day better than my glass 208 did. I am not knocking the 208, mine new aluminum is just that much better. People say well its bigger, but an extra foot doesn't make this big of a difference.

I went from in 2011 18.6 Glass Scout 185 Dorado Duel console with F115 Yamaha getting 6-7 MPG at 30 MPH top speed 44 MPH handled 6 passengers fine. Next I purchased a new Bullsbay center console 2012 20ft glass F150 Yamaha the 20 rode much better handled 8 passengers got 6 MPG at 35-40 MPH top speed 56 MPH, why I sold that boat was a huge mistake. I ended up getting an old 1987 Yarcraft model 1781 SC Glass deep V I put a new F70 Yamaha on it boat did fine with 1-3 people getting 8 MPG at 24 or so MPH top speed 36 MPH not a speed demon. Last year I purchased a 20FT Duel Console Lund Alaskan with Mercury F115 I wanted a Mercury F150 but they didn’t offer it. I like the layout & room but this rides way different than I am used to MPG is 5-6 top speed 43. Thought I may like the Glass lund better. I see Lund puts big HP on many of the boats they sell I would like a 20ft Glass with a 150 yet many get a 300HP I have to wonder why such big motors ?

The Lund is heavier then my Skeeter was. I have a 200 Verado and wouldn't want one pony less.
If you liked your Yar-Craft maybe look at the Backtroller. Although John doesn't make a 20' if thats what you have your heart set on.

I like the 208 Tyee GL DC 250-300 HP & Pro V 219 GL DC but don’t want a 350HP.

What is top speed & MPG with the 200 ? I thinking about the 250 Pro XS its 95lbs lighter than the 300 Verado that is a large load of weight off the transom.
