Default Aluminum Cleaner..

Current trailer is a Lund/Shorlandr. Fenders and step plates are diamond tread aluminum. Approaching 3 years old and it's a little dull. What can be used to brighten it back up. Maybe 25ish years ago there was something I used on an unpainted Lund hull. It worked pretty good, but all I can come up with so far is Star Brite Aluminum Polish. I did contact Shorelandr, their answer was pretty worthless. Any tips? TIA, Gregory

Hydrochloric acid works very well.

Just be sure to wear goggles and wear rubber gloves and be sure to do a 100% excellent rinse after using the acid wash.

sharkhide aluminum cleaner:

From the SDS label for sharkhide cleaner you will notice that the contents are primarily hydrofloric acid and sulpheric acid.

I started using White Diamond about 10-12 years ago; both by hand and with Porter Cable 7424XP polisher with a wool pad.
