Default cover songs

The greatest cover man of all time = JOE COCKER

Just to name a few....

With a little help from my friends - The Beatles (maybe greatest cover ever live at Woodstock)
The Letter - The Box Tops
The weight - The band
Something - The Beatles
Let's go get stoned - The Coasters
Have a little faith in me - John Hiatt
Feelin' Alright - Traffic
Can't find my way home - Blind faith
Ain't no Sunshine - Bill Withers

Unbelievable how someone can have that kind of career singing other peoples tunes. I truly feel he took most of the original artists songs he sang and made them even better......but that's just my opinion.

Love Joe Cocker and "The Weight" is one of my favorite songs but Joe Cocker singing "The Weight" is like driving spikes through my ears. Just my opinion.

I agreee with the many covers of Joe Cocker. And his singing voice was nothing like his talking voice. Listen to the first few seconds of "The Letter".

Default Joe Cocker & all the southern blues tunes

"With a little help from my friends" For years I never realized it was a cover of the Beatles classic so incredibly different.

Great thread, so many great southern Blues classics to list but a couple favorites.
Dreams - Allman Brothers covered well by many Southern Rock bands.
Statesboro Blues covered by ABB - orig Blind Willie McTell
Done Somebody Wrong - covered by ABB
Van Morrison Into the Mystic - covered by ABB smoking live versions on you tube
Trouble No More - covered by ABB - Muddy Waters tune
You Don't Love Me - covered by ABB - written by Bo Diddley

There are dozens of Blues classics that the great Blues players love to play around with.
