Green Bay fishing report for week ending 5/11

The bite on Green Bay continues to be good to excellent, with fish being taken outside of all typical spawning areas. The walleyes, for the most part, have completed spawning, and are feeding heavily on available forage. The area outside the mouth of the Fox has a good bite going, with trolled crankbaits or jigging with crawlers working best. I had three charters over the weekend and put some great 17-19" eaters in the nets, plus several bigger fish up to 28". which were released. Oconto and Peshtigo areas have slowed, but the fish are still in the area. The N to NE winds have cooled the waters to below 50 degrees, and with it, the bite cooled too. A warmup this week should get those fish going again. Remember, if you go please use caution, as big water conditions can change quickly. ALso, when you get the chance, take a kid fishing!
