I changed all my 8' flouros to LED single bulb fixtures in my shop. Went from 10 double bulb 8 footers to 24 single bulbs.
A little more work with some added wiring, but overall, cheaper, and brighter than before. Haven't had one single bulb go bad yet. |

we converted about 250 fixtures in our office for led by bypassing the ballast. It wasn't too difficult outside of a crick in your neck. you can google it.

Speaking of this, anyone notice Menard's changes vendors about as often as the wind changes direction? They must have really stepped-up pressure on vendors to keep prices down. |

changing vendors
Yup. Noticing that more and more. Walmart is sneaky smart about that. If you notice, they carry many many brands of food items but slowly but surely, they start to drop the name brands and stock primarily the Great Value brand of stuff. Sucker you in and get used to the name brand and then poof, they're gone. Since they are locked in with GV, that's where their biggest profit margin is. They are very smart and very sneaky at the same time.

Keep an eye on Costco. I bought all new fixtures for both my attached and detached garage a few years back when they were on sale. Do it all at once, not prohibitively expensive, and then you don't have to worry about trying to match what you already have.

I changed all mine to just a plastic screw in electrical base Then I bought the LED's with a center light and 3 adjustable arms that screws into the base I can tilt the arms to direct light in specific directions if required and they give tons of bright light Almost need sun glasses in the shop now LOL

A few years ago we added a third garage stall and converted our existing double garage to LED lights. I’ve never regretted it for a moment. We bought our home from a pioneer in the LED business. Our under railing deck lights were the “beta” test for that kind of application, circa 1998 or 1999. Those under deck railing lights are still functioning perfectly after 20 yrs. of 24/7 operation. LEDs do cost more but they do work and do save $$$$$$$$$

Crank baits are the same way. Every item I used to be able to buy over and over is no longer the same from month to month. Frustrating to say the least. Pooch
