Default Single Shot Turkey Gun

I'm thinking of going to a single shot turkey gun mainly because I want a "light" gun. Have any of you shot a 3 1/2 inch turkey load in a single shot ? From reading on the subject most say if you do it once you will never do it again because of the kick. Is that true ? Second question: How bad is the kick using a 3 inch shell ? --Finally anybody using a single shot for turkeys ? Could I get your thoughts on it ? thanks

I have a ten gauge I use often in the spring. It kicks like a mule because it’s so light, but you’ll never notice it in the field. Getting it patterned is a different story, my dad shot it once and handed it back to me, while saying “that thing kills both ways”. I still know I shot it on Saturday morning.
