Default Walleye all purpose rigging rod

Looking for a couple rods to use solely as rigging rods. Whether it be Lindy rigs, bottom bouncers, slips, etc... Looking for suggestions on a rod with super soft tip section but enough backbone to handle baits and fish.

A 7 foot medium light moderate action is the perfect rod for this purpose.

Many many rods out there that will fit the bill.

The key thing for a good rigging rod, is a moderate or slow action, so that you get a good visual indication of a strike without alerting the fish to the rod.

The 401250 would make the perfect rigging rod for $35.

The 82195 would work:

The 4301 would work exceptionally well if you want to spend more money:

I own the eyecon 7 foot ML in a 2 piece. I use it for live bait presentations. It's an excellent rod, very sensitive and does all I need it to.

Based on some good advice from members of this forum and the rod building forums, I built two rods for the purposes you seek to perform. I bought the blanks at Mudhole, see below:

MHX L902 Light Saltwater Rod Blank,
7'6" | 8-15 lb. | 3/8 - 1 1/4 oz. | Mod-Fast Action | Medium-Light Power | 1 Piece | 6.0 Tip | 0.49 Butt | Clear Gloss Finish

I have used the rods three years now. They do everything, including trolling cranks, well. You might think about building your own to get exactly what you want at a reasonable price.

A lindy rig can be as light as 1/8 ozs and a BB as heavy as 3 ozs...aint gonna find 1 rod to fit all. Do go 4 a moderate action or slow but expect to buy 2 rods at least. Action is more important than brand name. You will pay for the brand name
for no real reason. Fishing rods are relatively easy to build and easy to fool fisherman with. The Best all round rigging/trolling rod Ive come across is perhaps surprisingly marketed under the Rapala label. Its not available in the USA tho. Well worth the effort to get one. It will kick *** over rods priced 3x the price, I assure you will love it. My sons "Bounce 'n Troll" while good, is not as good. If you need one rod to handle non jigging action, this is it:
Cost you $100 USD...You will thank me later.

I agree with zeebee, with his recommending two different rods for your purposes, and you did say you were looking for a couple of rods anyway.

For Rigging - I love my St Croix Avid 7' mlf, (any 7' - 7'6"'mlf will work).

For Bouncing - I really like My St Croix Eyecon Bounce & Troll 7' mhm (any med-med heavy mod will work).

Good Luck!

I was able to use one of the new Scheels One Premium rods. They are spendy but WOW.

The 7'2" rod is specifically built for rigging. Super light and built as you would want. Soft tip yet some back bone to land fish.

They also came out with a 6'9" rod that is ideal for pitching jigs. Loved that one too.
