There are so many, but here are a few:

1. A small panfish lake in the U.P. that has every conifer native to the U.P. around it, except for jackpine. There are some big white pine and hemlock.

2. A small, clear lake in the back country of Banff National Park that had some beautiful rainbow trout in it.

3. Lake Superior, especially at Isle Royale.

4. A certain lake in Ontario that didn't have the greatest fishing, but had huge cliffs along it.

I'm lucky in that my brother in law lives right on the lake so spend majority of summer weekends there. Unfortunately, or should I say fortunately, not much for towns (lodging) but there are campgrounds if you are camping. Otherwise, I would recommend a motel in New Town or else Garrison then pull boat west on 37 to Indian Hills resort to launch.

Whatever lake I happen to be on at the moment usually tops my list.

BTW people, share the names. Beauty should be shared.

Also...Mirror Lake in Montana. Visited it as a kid. Still remember like it was yesterday.
