Default Helix 7 battery setup

I have two identical Helix 7s (G2N with chirp, SI, DI, gps/nav+) I plan to put on my new boat. I want to have one on the bow and have them both run off one transducer.

I was thinking of running the bow one off a Dakota Lithium 10ah 12v instead of running wires way back to the cranking battery. Has anyone tried it off on of those batteries? How much run time do you get out if it?

Not sure which boat you have but my Lund boat has spare wires at the bow. Maybe you've already done this but a Helix 7 doesn't draw that much power, i would try and locate spare wires in the bow. Congrats on the new boat!

It's a new Lund Rebel 1650 xl. I'll have a look for wires up there, thanks!

That's a nice boat and it should have a spare set in the bow storage. Lots of good knowledgeable people on this site that can help with most any problem or installation; Welcome to WC!

A Helix 7 has a max draw of 615ma, a 10ah LFP battery has 9500ma of useable capacity, 9500 divide by 615 is, 15.5 hrs run time
