Default Drop Shotting Walleyes

I have been studying this technique on line this winter and the past couple years have had some success with it.

Has anyone used the system with what kind of success and recommendations?

I'm using it more and more. Anxious to try a new Avid drop shot (AC69MLXS).

I use a type of drop shot technique sometimes when I am jigging.

I will throw a jig head and frozen minnow on the bottom of the rig and then add a single hook farther up and put a leech or worm on there.

Seems to work pretty good when you are fishing an area that doesn't have to many snags.

I drop shot a bunch last summer with good success.
I use the VMC SPINSHOT™ hooks for both walleye and perch. They worked well with both worms and leeches. And come to think of it, I caught walleye through the ice with the same set up with a minnow on.

I love this. I like using Paddle Tail style wide Miinows bodies. My go to is Made by Perusader tackle. it is a flatter style body with almost a beaver like tails. Its deadly in a drop shot rig..

when i drop shot i use a jighead as the bottom weight with a smaller hook about a foot up. on the jighead i use a darker colored worm lure. usually a brown/red glitter 4" ringworm or black ringworm on the jig. on the hook i put a 2-3" silver or white fluke. keep close to the bottom and youll be surprised how many hook ups you get

I use this technique very frequently in the spring on rivers, and have great success using live bait as well as artificials. Not as effective if the current is real strong, just have to find the breaks, and stay as vertical as possible.

I haven't tried yet but this thread has convinced me for sure. I jig fish all the time. Going to give it shot I'll let you know how it goes.
