Default Line Counter Thoughts

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a new line counter.... Any thoughts? Been a while since I bought one... Dont' know what's holding up now. I have Sealines, but I don't think they make the same model anymore.

Anyone have the B or the SGB???

I have had good luck with all of the Diawa Sealine reels that I have. Some are going on 6 years old.

I have a couple of Okuma Coldwater line counter reels, they’re good reels.

Keep with the sealines. The base Okuma/Cabelas are good enough but the sealines are a step above in all aspects. The are the best bang for your buck imo.

Is something wrong with your old one, or do you just want a new one? Check out www.tunareeltroubles.com

You can probably find any parts you might need there.

I have several different ones...... in order of how I like them

Okuma Coldwater low profile
Shimano Tekota
Okuma Coldwater
Daiwa - not sure of model but they are the blue ones Cabelas sells

I have a number of 300 and 500 sized Shimano Tekota's I use for walleye and musky and I have been very happy with them. They are built extremely well and have proven themselves to stand the test of time while fishing in all kinds of weather including late fall when everything is icing up.

I have Diawa 47's going on 12 years old that take a beating and still work fine. As long as my brother doesn't loose them overboard, that is....

For my walleye rigs I've gone low profile. Okuma Coldwater low pro line counters are pretty nice and compact.
