Go, down to your bilge pump, and insert this connector in the wires at the end of the bilge pump wires. Put the other end of the connector on the ends of the boat wiring.

Then, carry a spare pump or two. Then, if you ever have to replace a pump cartridge, you disconnect the connector, the hose, unsnap the pump from its mounting, and install the new pump, connect the bilge pump hose and plug in the new connector connections.
REW,

Great tip on the 2 pin connectors. I installed them yesterday. I added a dab of dielectric grease to each connector and a few wraps of electrical tape with the end doubled over on itself a 1/4" for easy removal.

My pump died on me two weeks ago during a tourney, figured it out that it was a Johnson pump and ordèred the cartridge off Amazon took a chance on it being a different model # than the original got home today as I work a week in week out and it was at the post office put it in perfect fit.
Took like 15 minutes.

I would see no reason to increase the capacity of a LIVEWELL pump. My pump already puts out more water than the drain tubing will handle.

Your system may be different so do what works for you. Just no need to have excess capacity that will never be used.

Bilge pump capacity is a whole different topic.
