Default Minn Kota Altenator Charger MK-3-DC

Can anyone tell me if you need to use all three banks of the altenator charger?

I would like to add an altenator charger to my boat and charge my batteries when I am running. But at present I have only two trolling motor batteries. I would like to not have to buy a 2 bank now and add a single bank later if I switch to 36v system. If I have to use all three leads I guess I could add an accessory battery for now. Thanks in advance - BigIver

Bigriver,
I have the owners manual for that unit, send me a PM with your email address, and I'll forward it to you.

Default Minn Kota charger

I have called the Minn Kota tech staff for advice on my system and found them to be extremely helpful!

Thanks Hot Runr Guy! Have sent you PM with my email. Hopefully manual will tell me if I can leave one set of leads not hooked up or possibly hook two sets up to one battery. I am working over nights so on my days off I could call Minn Kota tech line if I don't find the answer in the manual.
