What the insurance companies are not telling you is their rates are set by the State where their market is. If their revenue vs loses exceed State insurance rate guidelines the companies will be required to lower their rates. By returning your money up front avoids rate adjustments and the companies get good PR.

Ummm....can you tell us where you get that info? Insurance companies are required to FILE their rates with the state. But the rates are note SET by the state.

You are right about the setting of the rates. Let me restate my comment that all States have oversight on insurance rates and the responsibility to insure fairness and monitor activity that could result in price fixing. They require insurance companies to submit financial data.

I'm a long time USAA customer. They are crediting 20% back and have been an absolutely great company for myself and my family.

PA does not set rates but does set minimum coverages and if you can prove financial means to meet those coverages insurance is not required.

American Family will be sending me a check for $100 for the two cars I insure with them. Appreciate it. I live in Wisconsin.

My insurance company said there are talking with local restaurants in my area in the hopes of offering customers a $25 gift certificate to help support them. Now I wish I can get the local restaurants to serve better than Gordon Foods products and support me when I have to pay the additional $1,000 I have to pay this year for insurance rate hikes.
