There are several 'spy' programs available. They will record every keystroke made. Why not talk to your kids about the dangers of the internet and keep a closer eye on their activities while it happens? If you get too invasive they will just do it somewhere else.
However, you can simply go through the browsers history files and see what sites they visit. If they are crafty they can cover their tracks, but after a few hours of surfing, if the history cache is empty, they may be up to something or they may just want their privacy. Several programs are also available that block porn sites and other sites the youngest should not be viewing.
If you have WinXP you can lock their user ID out with a password to prevent browsing while you're not home.

Most kids have enough computer background to locate the password file when they do have access. I guarentee that anything that you can think of, they already have knowledge of or will very soon by way of geek friends that know their way around the computer better than Microsoft.

Spector, STARR and others will do the job. Some will email the information to an email address if you want, but some email programs will start up and show the send. Spector is very very stealth and can be scheduled to run as well as running at boot up in case they reboot. It picks up right where it left off. Talk to them yes, but don't turn your back. Keep track of what they are doing. It might save a nasty situation from occuring between you kids and some low life out there!
