Here are screen grabs of what that area is like on Navionics now.

Codeblue, what card did you get those screen grabs off and how old is it? You can always see the most recent charts for any body of water on the web app at www.navionics.com.

Brand new card....still has updates for the next 6 months. It has always been bad in most of Minnesota, which makes no sense. Most of the comparison shots will look like this.

I bought this one as I thought they would have improved over the last 5 years. Same old maps.

The first lake has dangerous rock reefs all over the place and not a single one is marked. I'm not sure how they surveyed that lake and missed that. If you followed the Navionics map---your lower unit would be gone quick. Anyways, I am saying I would not trust any Navionics for navigation in MN--for a rough guide its fine.

Codeblue,

If your card is updated then you will see the same level of data as I posted.

I noticed you don't have the SonarChart layer turned on. This will make a big difference for you. On a Humminbird you'll need to change the chart to "fish n chip" that will give you the higher details level that I posted.
