I’m seriously thinking about ordering a new 1880 ms. I’ve been reading up on anything that I can find on the web and most of it is good info, but most is a little out of date. I was wondering if anyone has ran one of these with the new 200 pro xs mercury 4 stroke. If so, how’s performance compared to the mercury 150 or 200 standard 4 stroke? 150 and 175 pro xs 4s info too if that’s what you have.

From what I understand the new 200 V8 really outperforms all others. I have the 200 Verado 4 cyl which is doing just fine for me but if I had it to do over again...

I have the same boat as Diesel Pro (1880MS with the I4 Verado) and would agree with him. I can maybe hit 50 with a light load and a tail wind. It is a fantastic boat for all kinds of fishing and cruising. If I were to order today I would get the Pro XS 200 and consider a jack plate.

Ok Jett. Keep use posted when you go WOT. Did you get the 200? And what other options did you get? Jack plate, 36v TM?

FWIW I had a 1860 Angler with a 175 V Rod and it was a champ. It got you a little more top end speed and better hole shot than a 150. That rig will run fine with a 150 on it in all honesty but you will get a marked improvement in overall performance with a 175 or 200.

I have the 200 pro xs v8. Max speed 50-55, with 36 volt trolling motor, depending on load, wind, current with the 19p tempest. I really like the boat. I fish the river and glad I got the 36v but for lakes 24 would be fine.
If I could make some tweaks they would be: -Make it easier to get to port side rod storage for trolling rods. Kinda need to bend over and look to see if tips going in properly -the back starboard hollowed open storage is mostly worthless (the one with towels on the website). Would be awesome if it would be tackle storage -increase front storage - lengthen center rod locker I am overall extremely happy with the boat, motor, and single axle trailer. I agonized over trailer, but I can move the nose in my garage manually and do that after every outing, though I’m sure the double would tow better, this tows fine.
