Default Rod tubes vs rod coffins for storage

So, I carry around 18 rods at all times often over 21 or so on trips. I struck gold by removing my tubes & finding out Lund has a finished floor.

I went from 18 tubes to 30+ being storable. I ran out of rods & still had space

What do you guys like? Fiberglass & tubes seem to be married at the hip for some odd reason thru my eyes.

I already tried doubling rods in a 621 and it sucked butt. Royally sucked.

1 of Vexus "selling points" is you can put 2 rods per tube because the handle holder is flat. That 621 had grooved handle mounts, like my Lund did.

So, tubes or coffins as a preference for anyone else out here? What do you guys prefer or wish you had?

Happy fishing!!

How?

I brought 10 & a combination bait casters, spinning & trolling rods with me & I couldn't comfortably double them up. Spinning sat sideways clogging vertical reel space & the handles were at a really big angle cuz of how they sat on top of each other.

I must've missed something

Happy fishing!!

Coffin for me.

I had the tubes in a Lund Pro V. Ended up tearing them out and installing foam and carpet.

The huge centre coffin style rod locker on the Warriors was a big selling feature for me and still is. I love the side rod shelves too.

I did that with my 2025 for a bit. The 2075s have a finished floor which was a nice surprise

Yeah, I saw that with the Warriors too--- rod storage galore which looked awesome

Happy Fishing!!

I could really go either way on this one..

My dad has tubes in his ZV21 but we can get 3 rods in each tub.

I absolutely hated my 2060 skeeter rod locker. It was nice in the fact that it was open, but no step or rod but end shelf to keep things somewhat separated. Needless to say my rods and reels took a beating in that thing and look like ****.

My new 2200 has at least a shelf so I can keep things manageable and also from getting beat up.

I could have probably made a small shelf in the old boat, but will welcome the new one.

So really they both work, but some designs are easier than others.
