Default Detroit river is on fire ......

This past week we boated 67 walleye. My wife jigged her first limit this year in less than 90 minutes. Lots and lots of 15" to 18" walleye in the river. 3/4 oz jig with a brown or black Wyandotte worm and tipped with a minnow. If you can't get a limit now, then you never will

This is on my bucket list. I can't imagine using a 3/4 jig though! I don't even own anything over 1/2 for the Mississippi

Interesting enough, a lot of Charter Captains on the river rig their clients up with 1 oz jigs. We also rig up 1 oz jigs for the less experienced jiggers. Some guys will go to 5/8 oz in shallower waters <20' but most places we jig are 25'-50' and 3/4 oz is perfect.
