Default Canada fishing license

Just opened the Christmas card from my favorite Canadian lodge. It included a notice that all Ontario license vendors had been closed and licenses would only be available online. Not a problem for me, as I have been purchasing online for many years. But, some of my group only want to buy at the resort. Just a heads-up and if my source is wrong, would appreciate knowing.

I'm no expert, but the link below (updated earlier this month) says that you can still buy non-resident licenses from Canadian license issuer:

Convince your buddies to purchase online, only takes a few minutes. No more waiting for retail vendors to process licenses, that was painful.

Online is the way to go. Buy it months before your trip, print it then stow it in your tackle box/bag and your good to go.

I have always bought the Ontario 3 year license/outdoor card online. It works well and is painless. I am glad you started this thread because it reminded me that mine is due this year. I wish Quebec would get with the times and allow me to purchase their license online as well.

+++ on the three year license. It is very convenient as the license is printed on the back of the card. Also, if you plan on going every year, you will save money as they seem to raise the prices every year.

As long as the lodge is still a licence issuer then they should be able to get it there but on-line is pretty painless and is definitely the way to go! Good luck!
