Default Gear Lube

What's your favorite gear lube on your towing vehicle (not outboard) and why.

Full Synthetic

Dino

Amsoil

Lucas

Mobile

Red Line

Just to name a few.........

I got to get 2+ GALLONS so it's a pricey choice IMHO. However, a LOT cheaper then taking somewhere to get it done......if they actually do it rather then just charging you for a job not done.

Bob

Amsoil. But there are alot of good brands out there. Depends on what you are looking for in lubrication.

Default wait just a sec

Hold on there, Buffalo Bob. Are you really going to actually change the oil in your tow vehicle or are you just window shopping? You're not going to waste our time by asking our opinion on this and decide , after many responses , that the diff fluid didn't need to be changed, are you? Hmmm....
Oh, BTW, I vote for Amsoil in this particular application, which is full synthetic.

Simply follow the recommendations in your vehicle's owner manual and you will not be wrong.

REW, thanks for taking the time to post the link but if you are not aware I own a Toyota Tundra not a Ford.

Good Morning Moon Boy,

No window shopping here.............gotta Get R Done before that white puke starts coming down.

I also like Amsoil but it a bit pricey when you need 2 gallons and it comes in either those stupid little qt bags or a 5 gallon bucket which is way too much.

I much prefer to use my pump to refill both differentials and transfer case. I don't think I could hold my arms up long enough to squeeze 8 qts of fluid.

Are you ready to watch your Brownies destroy the Ravens ! ! !

GO BILLS

I just did all gear lube on my 4wd sequoia. I used the full synthetic supertech. From what I've read, its good stuff. If you haven't changed the front differential before, that plug can be a real bear. I broke my snap on ratchet and rounded off the Allen head. I'd recommend hitting it with a hammer and chisel before trying to loosen.

Wow, that front differential sounds like a challenge if you broke a Snap On ratchet. Was that a 3/8 or 1/2" drive. Did you replace those over priced plug gaskets too for just reuse the old ones. Toyota is really proud of those washers at $3 a piece........
