Never validated side by side. I believe you can catch fish with any line. There are far greater factors that contribute to a fish biting or not.
However, I will continue to use braid with a fluoro leader simply because I run the fluoro 5 to 6 times longer than I previously ran mono. High quality braid is a bargain if you ask me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I run 30# Super Silck braid on every rod I own including my crappie stuff. I then run either 10 or 12# flouro for leaders. The reason is line diameter. PP SS 30# is .s011 and almost all of the 10-12# flours are also .011. This makes for a real nice FG knot for smooth casting. I originally switched to PP SS as an experiment and I miss proved my casting distance by about 10%. On my crappie stuff I o-ring my ground line, attach a flouro leader with 3 ways and 2-4# leaders to the three ways for my spider rigs. Using one ground line on everything keeps my costs down because I can find SS 300 yard spools for around $20 when I need it. Flouro then becomes cheap to use because the amount used is minimal. It does make a difference with bass.

How many anti-flouro threads is this REW? Gotta be 10 or 12 by now.
