Pepper - I'd ask them why there is a jack plate back there. Shouldn't be any need for one. I wouldn't let dirt deter you - my boat is filthy right now from late winter road travel, grimey water, etc. I'm going to clean and wax it when I get some time....

Have you checked out Grampa Joe's Marine (in Harris, MN)? Joe is a great guy, and I think he's got a couple of 618T's right now. Most of his boats are listed in the Classifieds, but he also has them on his website....

Good luck in your search....

thanks for all the advice and help. I kept looking at the 618t and the Skeeter tiller and was going to pull the trigger today and thought I better look at Alumacraft 1 more time and I'm glad I did because I fell in love with the new competitor and pulled the trigger on a new 175 through a 115 Suzuki on it along with a couple of birds linked and a terrova I-Pilot up front with a vantage on the stern. CAN'T WAIT
Not saying it's a better boat, just better for my fishing needs.

I will do that. It's going to be a frantic scramble, get the boat Thursday night or Friday and head north for the MN opener!

You will love the alumacraft a buddy just got one home this spring sweet boat. I on the other hand am looking for a glass tiller like the 618 or 20. I would also go for a triton or skeeter possibly any help would be great.
