Default Transducer and speed sensor...how far apart?

Hi all. I'm rigging a used boat I recently purchased. The boat came with a pitot-type speed sensor. I'm mounting a Helix 7 SI transducer. Both are on the right side of the boat. The speed sensor is inboard. Is it going to interfere with the side imaging as it looks to the left side of the boat?

Thanks!

Trail

HB SI “sees” all the way to surface on both sides ...

The blockage may show as a “hard line” close to (and parallel) with the centerline in the SI image ...

Even if it shows up it should not block much and the line will be right next to the boat icon. Look at it and see if it bothers you. Usually it is not something that will mess anything up. The lower unit of the motor will probably be a bigger factor. Bob
You can just remove it as you will have an actual GPS speed on your fishfinder.

Thanks, Bob. I was wondering the same thing....if you don't troll on a river, do you really need anything besides the GPS speed?

Those relics are not accurate enough to measure current anyway. A wheel speed sensor yes, but not a pitot tube

Probably won't interfere because they don't stick out too far. You might need to trim up the motor(s) or SI will be blocked on that side

Keep them on the right side because the left side is the turbulent water from the prop & I'm told that'll definitely interfere the transducer

Happy Fishing!!

My prop, and the turbulent water, is behind the transom. Any turbulent water near the transducer is coming off strakes, rivets, etc. on the boat hull. I have two transducers on one side and one on the other. They all work fine.
