Based on history figure 5-15,000 over list for the first ones that arrive and about a year for that to settle in and get pricing down to normal levels. Premium high end performance packages could demand as much as 25K over at first.
Good looking car IMO and a bargain for the performance it promises. |

Wait a year and get one.
Sure a supercharged model will come out also or at least another model with 50-100 more hp.

Usually its not a good idea to buy a first year run of any car. It takes a while to find and work the bugs out of them.

Glad they are finally putting the engine in the right spot.
Looks like a very nice car, but I will stick with my P car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The following years you will pay extra for some options that were included in the vehicle the first year.

One of the big things chevy claimed last year was the vet had close to the best balance of the car ever, 60/40. Now with all the weight in the back, my guess is the balance thing is out the window. Unless you carry bags of sand in the front

50/50 weight distribution now

How can that be? On the C7 the engine was in the front, the driver and transmission were in the back. Now, the engine and trans are all in the back.

The primary advantage of mid-engine designs is the ability to attain 50/50 weight ratios or close to it. You have a transaxle instead of a trany and rear end which saves weight, they push the engine forward quite a bit and the driver sits forward as well. |

It's a rear wheel drive car. So you want more weight over the rear wheels.
That's why Chevy went with the mid-engine. Previous cars(C6, C7)had front engines but the trans was in the rear for better weight distribution. The eight speed auto is a duel clutch transmission, meaning it's faster shifting than a manual trans. No lag between shifts. Besides Chevy couldn't find a manual shift trans manufacture for a mid- engine Vette. And I think they are all dry-sump engines.
