Yep, many here probably will need it someday and there is no better a time to get your State Boating Certificate then right now while sheltering at home.

Link for Michigan doesn’t work. Not surprised. Nothing and nobody in Michigan works.

Illinois wants to charge you for their own test.

PA is required for people born after Jan 1 , 1982 and for operating a personal watercraft . Its free from the Fish and Boat Comm web page. Why would someone take the Boatus course if it does not meet state laws ?

I signed up a few days ago.

NY State has a requirement for a boater SAFETY course.
Just as I expected, 70 questions and many of the questions
have nothing to do with safety.

kliph, once you pass the course and print your certificate, then get it LINKED onto your driver's license so you have it all the time. I believe it's about a $12 charge from Cuomo.

Boating safety and hunter safety courses are no charge at point of use in Michigan. They're not free, of course, everyone pays for them through license fees and taxes, including those who will never need the certificates. It's pure socialism. I expect there will be a large protest in Lansing any day now.

I don't know about the one bobby linked but the Michigan government page works like a charm.
