ALWAYS take off the neg first........then if you wish the pos side.....use twist ties from grocery stores to tie them all the neg's together....then all the pos together.

You can also use zip ties from the hardware store

just remove the neg as this will stop the circuit from completing. also you don't get a spark from the ground.

Personally I'd remove both, pull the battery, and store it in a warm location.

It really doesn't matter, but you are less likely to short something out if you remove the Neg.

It does matter

If one removes positive first and contacts metal ground with your wrench you will get a never forgettable spark.

Negative off first and on last

Choose one - it really doesn't matter.

But, if you get a spark from either terminal, just be sure that there is nothing around to cause an issue with a spark.

You can get a spark from either terminal.

If there is a circuit drawing current, a spark will be created when the circuit is broken, or made on either terminal.

Good luck

On a vehicle with negative ground, I agree, but I'm curious. Please explain why it makes a difference on a boat.
